Issue with 19.10 update

Since updating to 19.10, the training effect on my Fenix 6 has not been working properly. For each of the last three days, my fenix has recorded 0.5 aerobic and 0.0 anaerobic effect for (on average) a 34 minute, 5-mile run. And today, for instance, it recorded a load of 6. These numbers are just way, way off.

Is anyone else having these issues?

  • What are your first beat version ? All of them were updated with 19.10

  • I have exactly same issue. The training effect has changed dramatically: For the same cycling route I had same average heart rate and nearly same max heart rate (1 off). Also the average speed is the same. Now before the update that generated 1539 calories and now 591. the training load is measured as base while before the update it was VO2 max. Intensity minutes are off as well. I have changed max heart rate (use % as max heart rate for zone calculation). I have also changed zone settings and synced, but that doesn't help. What can I do, other than waiting for Garmin to come up with a fix?

  • I called Garmin about this. Apparently 19.10 (and 19.20) are just betas, so the representative thought that it had something to do with that. I've been put in contact with their development team, so when I hear more, I'll let you know.

Something odd is happening though. The representative said that because the programs are betas, they shouldn't have done a push update. It was particularly odd for me given that I have turned off automatic updates. So it appears that Garmin not only did a push update, it did so on a device that had deactivated that option.
