following course with smart trainer - cant display map

I cant display map when doing follow course using indoor buke with a smart trainer. this ruins the experience since i cant see how iam advancing in the course. seems like it works be a great improvement to see how iam progressing through the course rather then just having the distance update and of course resistance adjusted. it would enhance the experience

A reply to my own post just in case others read it. The map is actually there when you start the indoor bike activity, I just didnt see it in settings when I configured the activity. For those that have a smart trainer (I have the Neo but I think it should work with other smart trainer), its pretty cool. You can ride your own course on your smart trainer from the watch. The watch will control the resistance based on your course and will display you as you are advancing on the map. Cool.

Thanks for the information. I am testing it, but I am not getting the resistance being set by the watch. It is done when selecting free ride, or resistance modes, for example, but not when following a course.

Could it be related to Smart Trainer Options > Follow Workout: Power Zone 1 and 7 steps don't set trainer's power? I have not configured power zones yet, I think

Not sure about the power zones but I used "follow course" after initiating the indoor bike activity. By the way, there appears to be a bug with the data screens (I sent garmin an email) but I get extra data screens when i start the activity that I am unable to edit or delete.

Ok, I will continue to try.

Maybe extra screens are shown because you are following a course, so ir adds some screens related to the course, that can neither be edited nor deleted.

Maybe... I am still trying to manage my device
