Unable to make a power mode setting with Ver 19.10

Hi all,

I'm not sure you wanna jump straight into the new version, I'm having all sorts of trouble trying to get a power mode to stick with a given activity.

Normally I wait for the dust to settle with a new version, but my curiosity got the better of me and I did the update, I also did a full reset too....mm'

Anyway, I'm struggling to get newly created power modes assigned to a given activities.

May be someone has some thoughts as to where I might be going wrong.

I go to Menu > Power Manager > Power Modes > Add New > ....create a new power mode, all looks good, I create a second and a third power mode, again all looks good

I go to Menu > Activities & Apps and scroll to an activity, get into the Settings > Power Mode and the try and assign one of my created power modes and there's where it goes pear shaped.

Even setting it through the activity itself wont stick, it keeps reverting to "normal power mode" no mater what I try.

Any thoughts.

Cheers

  • Hi Again,

I'm replying to my own post as I think I have found the problem, it seems that you can only create a maximum of two additional power modes. Once that third one is created you cannot assign it to an activity....or maybe you can but the name doesn't change to the new power mode in the activity, I don't know.

If anyone is interested in checking this out because I'm curious as to whether it is a bug that has been introduced into the newest sw version or just me and my Covid lockdown stir crazy mind.

For some reason I cannot create three separate additional power modes and assign them to three different activities, the third of the activities will always show the second power mode I created, and then when you to delete the third "unused power mode" it will complain that it is being used??? and are you sure you want to delete...type message

strange but I appreciate some feedback, Thanks

    Cheers

  • when you to delete the third "unused power mode" it will complain that it is being used??

Are you sure is not only a visualization bug? You could check it creating the third power profile with backlight off (and the second on) to check if you see the name of the second power profile but the watch are using the third one.

  • Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I was absolutely positive yesterday, this morning after trying your suggestion, power modes are working as expected. Maybe I was confused over changing the power mode on the fly in the activity or maybe there was a glitch in the visualization, either way I find the problem is not there. I did turn the watch off and on again

Thanks again and Sorry to be of any trouble
