Legacy devices forum?

Sometimes people post questions here about older devices, and this being one of the more active forums, that makes sense - better change of someone noticing it.

On the German forum, there is a space for legacy devices. Why not on the English forum? I hang on to some older Fenix devices and keep them in good working condition. It would be nice to be able to have a place to exchange information about vintage tech.

  • There is an "Outdoor Recreation Legacy" forums main page here: Outdoor Recreation Legacy

Problem is, it has never been developed.  I asked Garmin directly about this soon after the major forum format change and was told it would be coming "soon," but obviously that never happened.  So, it is apparent that Garmin has no intention of providing a forum for legacy watches on the English language site.

  • Thanks for this information. Maybe there is a place for vintage outdoor watches somewhere on a watch collectors forum.

  • Honestly nobody here really minds when someone asks a question in here about a legacy device, we all understand that there's no forum for the legacy device so this one has to suffice.

Also, a lot of Fenix 6 owners here have owned Fenix 1/2/3 devices before, and can help you. For example, there are a ton of prior Fenix 3 owners in here. And those people are more likely to frequent the forum for the watch they own now, probably not spending any time in the legacy forum (if there was one).

So I think I can speak for most people here, that if you have a question about your Fenix 1/2/3, go ahead and ask in here. All we really ask is that your put your device type in the subject line, to clarify that your thread is about a legacy watch.
