For my run yesterday, I wore both my Fenix 6 (s/w 16.70, GPS 5.00, left wrist) and my Forerunner 645 (s/w 6.70, GPS 2.50, right wrist); both units have the current production software releases. The Fenix recorded 7.0 miles for the distance, and the F645 recorded 7.09 miles. To the best of my ability, I started/paused each unit at the same time. A review of each GPS track in Google Earth shows that, at virtually all points in the run, the F645 track was much more faithful to the route I ran than was the Fenix. Except for two crossings under highway overpasses, the route was always in open sky with no nearby tall structures. I have seen other postings that show that improved Fenix GPS accuracy can be achieved by wearing it positioned on the top of the wrist so that it faces upward. That being said, my question regards the accuracy of the GPS 5.30 s/w version that is included in the latest Fenix 6 beta release; has anyone noticed any difference/improvement in the GPS track accuracy for this release?
Thanks!
