Polar H7 HR Strap

I just got a Polar H7 strap and paired with Garmin fenix 6 pro. I saw it was connected and did a 4 mile run on treadmill. But I can't tell if the run pulled HR from the Polar or from the watch. NOTE: All i did to pair it was add sensor in the watch and when it said connected, I started my treadmill jog. i can't tell though if it was the watch recording or the strap.

Thanks everyone! I do see respiration data recorded and compared the data to previous runs w/o the strap and sure enough, there was no respiration data there. So good, looks like its working. Now I just…

got a h10. the light on the watch should turn off. take the watch off the wrist and see if your hr is still showing.

When you choose an activity but haven't yet started it, on the top third of the display (the message which shows GPS status for outdoor activities and "press start..." etc.) is there a heart icon? If not, it's using internal wrist HR. If the icon is flashing (I hope I remember this right), it's searching for an external HR device. If the icon is steady, it means an external HR device has been conntected for the activity.

Does your activity show sensible data for respiration rate? If so then it used the strap. If respiration rate is a flat line then it used the wrist HR.
