fenix6x pro wifi connection

I see many questions about the fenix connecting to wifi i have just purchased a fenix6x pro all spotify is on watch yet when i try to download it wont connect to wifi at home , work or using my iphone keep getting connection failed. Has anybody got a fix for this yet.

So, you have the Spotify App but have not previously connected to WiFi?

As noted then, you need to ensure you have separate 2.4GHZ and 5GHz networks and connect only to the 2.4GHz network.

My fenix 6x Pro connects to wi-fi with no problem... no fix needed.

Watch will not connect to a 5G network, are you trying to connect to one maybe?

The Fenix will connect only to WiFi 802.11g/n network at 2.4Ghz. It cannot connect to 802.11a/ac 5Ghz networks. It also cannot connect to LTE or 5G mobile networks.

You can use Garmin Connect on your phone or Garmin Express on your PC/Mac to configure the WiFi networks.

How did you get the Spotify content on the watch in the first place?

What exactly are you trying to do?

There were issues with the Spotify app even with a good WiFi connection so first thing to check is that the watch will connect to WiFi. You can check the connection from the watch by trying a WiFi sync from a Control or the WiFi option on the watch.

If that doesn't work connect the watch to a PC and Garmin Connect. Delete the WiFI connection there then remake it. If you don't have a PC, test the connection in GCM, removing it first then adding it again,.

If you do have a connection to WiFi then the issue likely like with the Spotify App. So delete that, reinstall it, login and try again.

spotify was downloaded when phone sync with watch thought everything was fixed until i try to download songs onto watch then it wont connect to wifi, have tired to use 4G hotspot and three different wifi nectworks, watch wont connect to networks lets you find and input password but wont connect.

According to Garmin it does use 11a/c as well but 2.4 on channels 1-11

Supported Frequency: 2.4 GHz only
Supported Protocols: 802.11 ac, b, g or n (802.1x is not supported)
Supported Channels: Channels 1-11 only
Security: Unencrypted, WPA, and WPA2
Passwords for encrypted networks must meet an 8 character minimum in length
Networks with a hidden SSID are not supported

Fenix 6 is using 802.11n network interface card, with 2.4GHz only.

You can even use 802.11ax (WiFi 6) with any wireless device. Every you 802.11 standard is backward compatible a/b/g/n/ac/ax, etc.

And WiFi 5 802.11ac only support 2.4GHz frequency for backward compatibility (802.11ac is 5GHz only).
