Hi guys.
Noe im going a lot of cycling I have noticed my training effort doesn't record. If I purchase a cadence sensor will ai then get this feature? Or do I have to spend the big bucks and get a proper power meter?
Hi guys.

To get cycling VO2Max, you do need a power meter. PM prices have come down a lot in recent years, but they are still not cheap.
However, if power data is not available, you should still get Training Effect based on HR while cycling.
But you won't get a Training Status from cycling, at least not without a power meter.
Correct - you will get Training Effect, but not Training Status if you don't have a power meter. (TS looks at changes in VO2Max).

Which is to be fair a bit rubbish. You get Training Status from running without the need for a power meter.
(Now I’ll admit I may be missing something in that but I still think it’s poor.)
My Training Status has now disappeared as I’ve transitioned away from running for a bit and don’t have a power meter on the bike.
I do however (indoor) row most days and that does provide power just fine.
The Fenix 6 can see the PM5 on a Concept2 and use it as a sensor thus pulling across all the data but it doesn’t feed into Training Status and once that goes you lose the widget in the app so then have to go digging in the menus to see your Training Loads and what not.
Being cynical for a minute though. Maybe they just want to sell some pedals so we can then have TS from cycling too!
