My Fenix 6x Pro Solar no longer recognizes reps in the gym (Strength activity).

After many months I went back to the gym and I immediately realized that my Garmin no longer recognizes any movement during exercises. My workout plan hasn't changed and it is fully stored in the watch, exercise by exercise (custom workout), thus I have just to follow it.
Before the Fenix recognized almost all the exercizes and counted the repetitions with a good precision, now the counter always remains at zero for every kind of exercize.
I know the counter can be unreliable, depending on the exercise, but for my workout it worked good before: sometimes missing just the first or the last rep, only things like pull ups were totally missing (obviously!).
I just do not understand why, following the same workout, before it worked pretty good and now it is not working at all!
Any ideas on how to fix? Thank you!

  • Given that your Fenix 6 worked fine up until recently, it is difficult to say what has changed other than clearly, the behavior has changed. It could be a hardware failure of the accelerometer. It would stand out if the accelerometer sensor failed though since your watch would also stop recording steps taken when your watch wearing arm swings during each day.

    Please try the following:

    - Hard Reset: Hold down the top left button until your watch shuts off then let go once it powers off

Test. If the issue continues, proceed to the next step.

    - Reset to Factory Defaults: Go to the System > Reset menu on your watch and reset as little as needed to resolve the issue or reset it fully

If your issue should still continue for your Strength APP - only as the absolutely last resort, you can fully reset it: How to Reset My Garmin Outdoor Watch. If you need to exchange your watch, please reach out to your nearest region Outdoor Product Support.

I am experiencing the same issue with my Fenix 7 pro solar. Have you found a solution?
