Pace and distance problem - considering Stryd Wind V3

Hi all

I have like a lot others in here problems with constant/correct pace and distance. I now consider a Stryd Wind V3 and have a few questions I hope some of you could help me with;

  • Will Stryd data for distance and pace overwrite clocks internal data on data fields and on Connect app/Strava?
  • How accurate is Stryd? Is it hard to set up?
  • Do you have any experience with Stryd? Pro/Con

Best Regards

Frode

  • Same here, I have some sharp inclines and it has not given me any issues, my 'normal' lap is about 13.5 km long and stryd is pretty consistent.

    One thing I did notice but I am not sure if this is actually a placebo, I usually run with earphones listening to music.

    Whilst I had issues with stryd being inconsistent before (like I mentioned, I found out it had to be securley hooked up to the shoe) it did sometimes still act up giving me distance discrepencies.

    I found out whilst running with a friend (so no earphones and music) mu laces ends were hitting the stryd when running (i heard the ticking of the hard ends on the stryd) and that run had a different distance than  I was expecting.

    I since then tuck my lace ends in under the laces so they fdon't hit the stryd and have had no issues ever since.

    I am wondering whether the laces ends hiutting the stryd might confuse it.

    It's a long shot, but seeing some people have real issues with their stryd it might be something to check for.

  • it can be challenging to find a flat enough course out here in the PNW.

    Very true.  I'm also in the PNW and the wife and I don't have this issue.  In all fairness, there's another user in the PNW who says the same as you.  I run for health and to escape the BS of everyday life.  I'm not concerned with pace, HR, distance, etc. so my stride is pretty consistent on all terrain. If I were concerned I could see how my stride would change on different terrain.  Maybe that's the difference? I don't know....

  • I have the V2 and consider the consistent pace and the usage of running power as its main benefits. After calibration on the track, it is always giving me the correct pace. I have a Runn on my treadmill as well, I regard it as equally good for determining my pace.

    My best marathon time was achieved using running with power
