Cardiac strain? Fourth frontier x?

Hello

I have been getting fbook pubs on this device (strap) that costs 499$. It is suppose to calculate many metrics (load size, etc. and ecg..). It actually has a screen on the strap.

What is different is a proprietray way to know if you have strained the heart muscle (deprived of oxygen). It will actually vibrate when this happens.  It also vibrates to indicate cardio appropriate zones...

Anyway...what do you guys think?

I want a new strap ...its very expensive.

There is also a strap from wellue that seems to.do the same thing (ekg, hrm...) but doesbt have strain (cardiac)

Anyone used it? What are your toughts in real world application for a 43 y.o sexy beast like me?

  • I'm looking at this as well.  The ability to capture your ecg during a workout and review the entire workout is impressive.  My only concern is that it's relatively new to the market and is based in India (support, return policy, development, etc...).

I returned the Wellue.  The app was horrible.  For you to capture the ecg you need the app to be on the forefront of your device.  If you're on a treadmill or stationary bike, it works okay as long as you have the app running, as soon as you switch to anything else, (text, email, music, phone, etc..) the app disconnects .  I used it on a run and wanted to capture a moment.  Linking the app to the Wellue was so frustrating that I gave up.

I wish Garmin came out with an ecg device!!

  • I'd be very surprised if it did provide you with an ecg of any worth...we use at least 10 electrodes to get the three planes of the heart so to show cardiac strain from one electrode sounds quite far fetched.

  • I have ordered this to try it since it comes with a 30 day no quibble money back guarantee, will let you know how I get on

  • I've been using the FrontierX for several weeks and I like it.  The application is a little corky, best to view your data on a laptop  and the strap is uncomfortable.  I went on a 4 hour ride with a 1 hour run and it captured all of the ecg data.

Shared the data with my cardiologist and he was so impressed with the type of information provided he ordered one for himself.

  • I'm interested in this but do not see an easy way to interpret the data beyond basic parameters like cardiac stain and respiration rate.   It would be great, for example, if the app could explain the meaning of my QT/ST intervals but this would probably cross the line into medical advice.  There is a $100 off sale now and so I'd probably pull the trigger if this device would meaningfully add to my training.  Interested in any feedback from users.  (Does this record HRV?)

  • Is it difficult to plug into computer to download the data on the Wellue? I am curious, and eyeing both these out.

  • I bought this but found it difficult / impossible to add to my Wahoo setup - you can only connect to 1 device and it is BLE only , when I tried using both Wahoo Tickr and this at the same time I got a lot of signal problems with Wahoo I am now in the process of returning it for a full refund.  I think this could be a great product if they added Ant+, allowed more connections and had a continuous HR feed - it only sends a signal every 20 seconds which Wahoo didn't like

  • In process or returning - didn't fit in with my Wahoo setup and for this price I would expect more - only 1 connection no ANT+ No continuous HR signal only every 20 seconds and no USB C charging. Paired with Wahoo fine but Wahoo didn't like the 20 second delay when used side by side with Wahoo tickr it caused a lot of signal drops on Wahoo

  • I use this connected to ny Garmin Fenix 6 Pro and it’s the reason I am still alive! Felt a bit rough so showed the ECG rot pacemaker technician, she immediately referred me to cardiologist, who was stunned at the clarity of the ECG, told me that I had to be dealt with urgently. That was on the Friday, the following Tuesday I had angioplasty. It was also the ECG from the Frontier X, last year, that picked up the heart block which resulted in my pacemaker being fitted.

It is improving all the time and its transmission tho the Garming is down from every 20 secs now to almost instantaneous - not sure that it works as well with other devices, I think it’s a deal between them and Garmin. The device in my opinion is a life changer, if nort saver
