Back-lap button doesn't stop anymore GPS on Ultra-Run mode ?

EDIT 8/42021 - This Support Center article is accurate. The GPS will not pause when using the "Rest Only" feature. To pause the GPS, it will need to be done by pausing the entire activity using the Resume Later feature when pressing the top right button.

If you look this video done when ultra run has been launched, sorry it’s in French, at 6’20’’, the guy tests ultra run mode and press back lap button.

He is inside. When he shows screens, we can see that the fild « allure » = pace is at - - : - - at 6’50’’

Distance is not growing…

There’s your answer why distance is not increasing. He’s inside. 

You can try and you will see that inside or outside, it's the same : pace is running and distance increasing

Apologies for casting doubt on your post. We’ll done on persevering in the face of our doubts. Great to see another positive response and timely support from Garmin. 

So what's now the use of the Rest only feature? I can just use the normal Pause/Resume function now. In my opinion the use case was that if you were at an aid station you press the button to get information how long you pause. Time/gps etc. goes on that if you forget to "resume" neither time nor distance is being lost.

I like that feature just as it is, even if it's a bug.

The time continues as before. It's just that no distance accumulates, so if you've noted the distances to aid stations, that won't be thrown off by the accumulation at earlier stations, and the total distance will match the race distance better.

Forgetting to resume is a worry though for distance.  

ETA I am, obviously, talking about the proposed change, as was Revo, not about the way that it currently works. I apologise for confusing the OP by not being explicit about that. 

It’s not stopping anything today. Engineers have to developp that.
