Best strap for surfing and kitesurfing

Still on original Garmin strap. Lots of sea and pool swimming and suggestions that it might fail anytime soon. I've only ever tried one third party strap and that was on my 920XT. Nearly lost the watch when the clip came undone.Replaced it with an OEM strap and never considered anything else since.

However others use third party straps without any problem and will no doubt contribute something you will perhaps find more useful.

I have busted over 10 straps due to loop holes breaking and have got both Garmin and 3rd party replacements - they all break. I have also lost a Quatix and now a fenix due to the straps breaking, which I think is to do with the quick release mechanism getting sand in it or jamming. If someone has a solution here I would love to hear it as I really do not want to lose my Quatix 6.

I think the quick release bands are fine for regular sports but water sports/marine watches need something a little more durable

I bought an enduro velcro lock strap and it came undone very quickly in the water.

Hi I have had that happened with two Enduro's now. The first time it came off and was lost body surfing. The second time crossing a flowing river-- luckily i was able to retrieve the watch but the strap had come off and the spring bar/pin was lost.   I am now trying to see how I can get a replacement Quickfit 26 spring bar/pin. Any ideas appreciated

I have a nylon strap with velcro from yooside.
Works well and can be quickly adjusted in size.

I was thinking about getting the Nylon strap, however I am not sure if it will sustain big surf! Would hate loosing my watch in heavy surf conditions :)

Changed to a Quatix. The narrower watch band seems to hold up much better

I also lost a garmin with quickfit mechanism in the water because of the strap, now I'm worried about buying another garmin...
