Can I limit text notifications to just my wife and daughter?

I got this watch for all the functions besides the notifications. I don't want my watch buzzing me every 90 seconds.

But I would like to know if my family needs my attention. Without writing code, is there an easy way to limit notifications to just 2 contacts?

I doubt there is, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Not on the watch, it essentially just mirrors the notifications from the phone, so you'd have to find a way to do it there. I know on iOS you could put it in do not disturb mode and have it only allow certain contacts through and that would stop the notifications as well. There may be other ways to do this, and I have no idea as far as Android goes since I don't have an Android phone.

You can star contacts as favourites in Android, and i think DND mode can be configured to just let these notifications through

So, that works. But now I'm shutting off all SMS (except wife and daughter) for my phone too.

I'll keep playing with it, but I just might be asking for an option that is too unique.

This watch is so powerful, I just now expect deep and extensive options.

Through the Garmin Connect app, you can select which apps send notifications to the watch. But selecting which contacts would have to be done through the phone.

It's possible to do that using Tasker + auto notifications.

It would be kind of complicated, but basically:

Disable sms app notification from garmin connect setup

Intercept sms notification from auto notification in tasker

In tasker check if message is from your wife / daughter and if so just display new auto notification from tasker. Auto notification from tasker should be enabled in garmin connect app notification setup

Is this a non iOS feature? I cannot locate how that is done. It looks like I only have a setting that allows all notifications or just calls and texts. Would love to be able to fine tune this feature some more. Any help appreciated!

Have your family use a different app, such as Teams. Then in Garmin Connect, only get notifications for that app.

Have a look at Focus mode in IOS15. You can setup 'profiles' for different times of the day that only get notifications from certain apps or from certain people.
