Fenix 6X Sapphire settings queries?

Hi, new Fenix user and just got a couple of set up questions. All help appreciated.

1: WiFi? Connected to my home WiFi no problem but what happens on a run. Will the watch be constantly looking for WiFi networks and therefore potential battery drain?

2: Altimeter calibration. Noticed a setting that states “auto cal not during an activity”. Believe the default is on? Interested to know what other users think as my previous Fenix 6 appeared to have altimeter/elevation issues.

1. No, it only looks for wifi when it has a completed activity to upload. Or you go to the music settings to download a new playlist. It is off pretty much all the time outside these brief scenarios.

I just leave it off, and have it on the control wheel. So only activate it when I need it i.e. downloading music/ systen update. Find that the bluetooth sync connection for transferring activities to watch is more than enough.

Altimeter - I have it set to calibrate at the start of an activity only. This works well for me and stopped the watch doubling elevation, however its pretty flat where I live. If you live in an area where altitude changes are more frequent another setting may be a better option.
