Questions about Garmin coach

Hi guys,
since i won a Garmin 6s at work i have fallen in love with both the looks and style of the watch as well as the ability to get me out and about with the abundance of stats recorded.
Currently i own a 6X Pro and HRM-Pro band so i can have lots of info about my runs.
I've been running for about 2 months and i am doing alright.
22:37 PB on 5km and 47:28 on 10km
I do not train according to a plan and i don't do gym.
I've stumbled upon a few videos praising both the suggested workouts and the Garmin coach plan. The latter caught my interest but i want to make sure it will actually get me there and maybe beyond. Make no mistake, i am not expecting it to turn me into an elite athlete but ideally i wanna be able to push myself and see the results. Did i mention that i am not a fan of waiting? Who is anyway?
So, i started the plan today, base run and all and i found a 5:06/km and 179 bpm threshold. I am confident that the plan will get me to where i want to be and give me a good base to improve even further.
Anyone else has successfully done this and can give me an idea of what to expect?
Cheers.

  • My wife already did a few 5K (Coach Jeff) and 10K (Coach Creg) plans. Worked out well and she pushed her PB even a few minutes further than planned. Coach Jeff is really good for people with less running experience, he teaches running techniques and his workouts are more about distance than pace. Coach Creg seems to be more for the already experienced runner and focuses more on pace and timed workouts. In either of them, you'll get videos handling different topics which are quite interesting.

She is more than confident that she will finish with a new personal best in a few weeks.

  • Thank you so much. I am confident that the program will adapt to me and i watched some videos about it. I am sick of going for a random run, mostly 5k, running basically as good as i can on that day but not having a goal in mind or a plan at all. I'll keep you guys posted.

  • I've done half and full marathon plans successfully. Both got me in good shape, if you stick to them you'll do well. Just be realistic in how many days you can spare.
