Elevation (alitude) and Solar issues on Fenix6X Pro Solar

First problem: Elevation (Altitude)

With v16.7 and now with v17.72 I still have the same issues with the Altitude. Big differences with my watch in comparising with several sites.
Also I have too soon accomplished my climbing steps on a day.

I have resetted my watch to Factory settings, but nothing helps. Also calibrating won't help.

Second problem: Solar charging is not working properly since March

I think there are some hardware issues with my watch. What can I do? Have anyone solutions or same habits? How to contact Garmin for technical support?

Jean - have you trued altering the Barometer mode in settings to Barometer - hence stopping pressure changes being seen as altitude changes, and then re-done that segment?

It would then give you a measure of the purely GPS only errors you're getting?

I did a complete Factory Reset. But that did not help either. I have a message back from Garmin by Chat function that I have to clean back side with the pins

Also the problem with Solar exists and they say probably my device is 'broken' and can be booked for replacement. But that can take a while I think

Try the next one without the barometer and see what happens perhaps?

Is it possible to disable the barometer in the settings?
I will first test with other devices and "During Activity" = "At Start" setting. I will do this test today.

Sensor menu - Barometer - set it to Barometer and then pressure changes don't affect measured altitude

If you set the watch to Barometer mode, then it interprets all pressure change as weather related and keeps your altitude constant, all the time, until you switch back to altimeter mode. I don't think you want that.

Also, try disabling any type of calibration before and during activity, people have reported that the various calibration features sometimes introduce error. Since you're running in very flat terrain anyway, calibrate manually at the start, don't calibrate during activity, and see if that works any better.

No, it'll take height from GPS readings ONLY. It doesn't fix the altitude.

Ah, that makes sense I guess. But I seem to recall someone saying before that only the baro altitude readings get logged to the .fit file. So would that mean that when you look in the .fit file later you still see constant elevation?
