Turn off auto climb

noticed the same issue when I was swimming the other day - kept on chaning the background, but haven't experienced it while walking (auto climb is off).

When you're stopped at the wall it switches from 'activity screen' to 'rest screen'

Auto climb is turned off. What else?

Auto lap?

Auto lap is set to 1 km.

Other possibilities perhaps are either Auto Pause or Alerts?

and that is fine, by if you have selected black background, then surely rest screen etc should remain black like you requested. Seems a bit silly that it changes. And or there should be an option for you to adjust your rest screen background, or a setting to stay the same (or have i missed something).

I notice that the lap screen does the same when running and walking - always shows up in white irrespective of background colour choice (never noticed it before as seldom look at lap screen, just work off the alert).

I think the reasoning here is that a quick glance it becomes much easier to see if you're at a summary screen then a data screen if the colours are reversed.

I suppose so, but never ever have only 3 items on my data screen, so its always pretty obvious when its a lap screen and when it isn't. Could always give us the choice.
