Which map is used by "navigate" app?

I have several maps installed on my Garmin fenix 6 pro (OSM based 3rd party map for Germany, as well as an original Garmin topo app for Germany (purchased), special maps for the Alps, ...). For hiking, biking etc. one or multiple apps can be activated and deactivated via the settings menu of that specific activity. However, when using the stand-alone "Navigate" app, I wonder which map is used for the around me, POI or "use map" feature. There is no option "configure map".

Hold down the middle button when Navigate is highlighted (but not activated) and there's a Configure MAP option there. under MAP

And what map will be used when I have selected there more maps?

Under Configure Map you choose which ones.

It uses any (and all) routable maps you have installed and turned on in the settings AJR mentioned.

So if, for example, you have the factory Topoactive map, and also a 3rd-party routable trail map, and you tell the watch to route you on some combination of roads (that are in the topoactive map, but not the trail map) and trails (that are in the trail map, but not the topoactive map), it will use a combination of the two maps to generate your route. At least, that's the way it seems to work for me.

I have installed factory Topo Europe and openmaps for my country. After selecting both in Configure Maps, whitch map will be displayed? Both cover the same area.

Each map has a draw order value intrinsic to the file I believe, which sets the order. In my experience, in that case the OSM seem to take precedence.

A simple test is to look at the map with both selected, and then look at it with each one disabled (first A, then B) - you'll then see which has the higher draw order
