Calibrate local barometer

in the barometer widget you can calibrate - have two options GPS or DEM.

You could try to see which sets its closest to your actual reading.

Check the Barometer options to see how is measuring the pressure within 'Watch Mode' option: Auto, Altimeter or Barometer, and then try to calibrate. 

That's what I meant - that widget lets you calibrate the pressure at sea level, not the pressure read by the barometer inside the watch. I'm at 250 m asl, so the two values are nowhere near each other (the one at sea level is 1017, the actual reading is 989, but according to my instruments at work should be 988).

I think that you can do that, albeit indirectly, via the barometer calculation; that lets you enter your actual elevation and the sea level pressure to one decimal place, which shifts the ambient pressure to correct any offset in that, based on whatever calculation the watch is doing internally for elevation vs sea level pressure, using numbers that are relatively easy to get hold of.

Maybe not changing the elevation value, but shifting the sea level pressure by -0.9, would do the trick? 

The barometer on your watch calibrates pressure at your location based off msl.  You can add a data field that shows ambient pressure and there's a widget in the IQ store that shows both if ambient pressure is more important to you. 

I guess if you have a known highly accurate reference barometer, and you know your garmin is out, then you will need to add a small reference altitude until they are both reading the same. That would be your calibration offset (though if that value would still be valid at say 1000m is debatable)

I agree 100%, and that's indeed what I'm trying to do on the watch, but I'm not sure it's even possible. That's why I opened this thread
