Wireless headphones

I have a Plantronics BackBeat FIT and it disconnects on occasion -- not as bad with 16.70 as before, but it DOES.  This used to work perfectly six months+ ago, so it's definitely in the firmware of the watch, NOT the headphones.  I don't know if there ARE ones that will not do it at all for that reason.

I think you should wait a bit before you drop your Jaybird Tarah Pro.

Hopefully they will release a bluetooth firmware update soon and Jaybird headphones will work again. :)

I use airpods pro and beats pro and they work perfectly, no disconnections. On the beats pro I can use the volume rocker and skip song buttons flawlessly. Since 16.00 firmware. 

currently on 16.7 and still no issues. I've even used a JBL mini speaker on my bike connected to the watch and no problem. Thats on a 6x pro

Same here, I use airpods v1 and v2, and never get disconnections. 

In the first minute or two while its finding gps I may get a stutter or two but will go away within minutes.

Can confirm this is a myth, at least with my setup (Fenix 6 pro, airpods v1, HRM pro)

Had used the Plantronics Backbeat Fit for about 3 years.

Currently using Jabra 75t without problems with my F6 while running. Although they are sensitive to placement - I get dropouts when using them with my phone in the middle pocket of my cycling jersey, but no dropouts when the phone is in the right side pocket.

It's not a "myth", but only affects mostly Jaybird headphones (Tarah, Tarah PRO, Vista, etc..):

So it's great that everyone confirms that Airpods working great, but the are not Jaybird.

Some earbuds can connect only with the right earbud and will forward the signal on to the left bud. This is typically great for people connecting with a phone kept on the right of the body, but often not so good when connected to a watch worn on the left wrist. 

Other earbuds can connect with either bud to the source device, but in my limited experience the right bud is still the default.

For example, original Galaxy Buds can connect with either bud to the watch. To force connection to the left bud, for a watch worn on the left wrist, you must remove only the left bud from the case and close the lid. The left bud will work in mono mode on its own just fine when you connect it to the watch. Once it is connected you can add the right bud to the mix. This should reduce or eliminate dropouts - in my experience at least. If I yank both buds out of the case together then connection is established with the right bud and dropouts can follow. 

If you have buds that can only connect from the right bud then switching the watch to the right wrist may help.

I guess there may be other factors too, such as body mass and head mass. Bluetooth signals do not do well at passing through flesh. The signal between buds is not Bluetooth, but a different signal type designed exactly for such barriers. 

Hey all just an update. I got fed up waiting for jaybird  or garmin and I opted for the bose sport earbuds with the garmin fenix 6x after reading some comments and feedback here (massive thanks to all). Not had a drop out issue since. I kept the jaybird for when running with hydration pack and have phone on me. 

Bose only last 4-5 hrs but can recharge on the run. The jaybird i used with my phone on a 100k run and did the whole thing no problem. (Watch was amazing too) 

 can confirm the bose have been awesome. Don't fall out as long as u have the correct in ear silicone fit.
