Sync failed Spotify every time

Every time I try to sync spotiftly with fenix 6 it fails. I am in the room with my router using no other internet. It's been like this since I first bought it and it's ridiculous that a 700 pound watch is like this. Does anyone know how to sort this?

  • I've had my Fenix 6 Pro for about 4 months and I still struggle with WIFI syncing using two routers, Vodafone and BT Hub 5.

I find if I turn WIFI off for a few days, next time I try to re-connect it seems to have 'forgotten' the password, and I get an Update Password message - if I am VERY lucky I can sometimes reconnect, but often it fails with 'No internet', then I can spend ages fiddiling with my router settings and sometimes I randomly get it to work.

About the only way I can reliably get sync to work is to open a WIFI hotspot on my phone.

I'm pretty switched on as far a tech. is concerned, but I'm utterly beaten by the F6 Pro sync problems.  Everything else in my house, even 10 year old Chromebooks that haven't seen an update in years connect fine... as did my Fenix 5 Plus. But the F6 Pro just won't play ball.

  • Is it a mixed band router you have? 2.4 and 5 gHz?

  • More then a year with F6s pro, still can't sync Spotify. Countless updates of firmware (over wifi, auto update) and Spotify app, in meantime switched the internet provider and therefore wifi router... and nothing.

  • I've had my F6 Pro for maybe 3 weeks and am having a similar problem. I'm guessing there is no solution to the problem. When my Venu stalled while syncing I'd cancel it then start the sync again and most times it would work, it seems to have little to no effect with F6 which is frustrating given the price.

  • I haven't had much issues with wifi syncing on my Fenix3, my Fenix 5s Saphire and now my Fenix 6s Saphire (with Pro features) but when I had issues :

-changing the router wifi channels to a fixed one (instead of auto) helps the connexion

-sometimes rebooting the watch helps the reconnexion

-my fenix3 wouldn't connect on some 2.4ghz channels for some reason (moslty those above 10)

-as far as spotify is concerned, I used a device password to authenticate the service, not my email/password main credentials

  • This is a really old thread, but I figured I'd share my experience and workaround here for others (and maybe Garmin/Spotify).
Over Wi-Fi, 2.4GHz, same room with only a thin sliding closet door in between, I would regularly get sync failures. Phone hotspot was slightly better, but also not bullet proof. What I found worked wonders is turning the watch off and back on before the sync.
