Selecting certain notifications to view on Fenix 6 (base model)

Hi,

Got a new Fenix 6 (base model). Is there any way to give permission for certain apps to get notifications through on the watch? It seems to be all notifications, none or just calls and texts. I don’t want certain notifications coming through so want to pick and choose?

I just want a list to go down and toggle certain things on and off basically.

Thanks!!

  • Might have sorted it for whoever is in a similar boat:

On the watch, 'allow all' notifications.

And then on your iPhone, open notifications and for each app you have; open it and de-select the middle box 'Notification Centre'.

You will then not see those notifications on your watch but will be still present on your phone. I just wanted Texts, WhatsApp and Facebook on the watch and not every other app I had. So this solved it for me :)

  • Ya the problem is that Apple, in their typical way of doing things, likes to cripple the way their Apple Watch competition performs on their iPhones. They purposely disabled 3rd-party smartwatch companies from having the ability to send text through the iPhone, and to select which apps can send watch notifications. I really don't understand why people still support that company. But I digress.... yes, as you noticed, app notifications are an "all or nothing" situation on the iPhone. The only way to turn off notifications for certain apps on the watch, is to also turn them off on the phone.

  • Sadly thats the poor way to do this. Honor did this the same and it sucks. Sometimes you want to see the notifications in notification centre but not on the watch...

Amazfit could do better as you could select in their App which notifications should show on the watches.
Samsung lets you decide on the watch what notifications to show and what not.

  • In GCM for Android you have per app notification control. You would hope for the same in iOS.
