Fenix 6 shows the wrong temperature for my activities

Hi

When I look at the weather data on my watch it is displayed correctly today 10 ° c, but when I have been out on my run / walk, and read my data on the activity afterwards, it shows a completely different temperature today 23 ° c, how to solve this?
When I look at the GPS route it is correct.

  • There are at least two temperatures to consider.

One is the temperature of the watch, which is monitored and graphed throughout the activity. If you are wearing the watch against your skin then this data will be pretty much useless, since it is neither body temperature nor air temperature, but some random blend of the two.

The second is the actual air temperature obtained over the Internet from a nearby weather station. This might be more appropriate, unless the source for the data is at very different altitude from your position.

As an example, today I walked the dog. I have a completely useless graph of the watch temperature, cooling throughout the walk once I left the house. Garmin Connect has also assigned a "weather temperature" to the activity. For my walk today this value is correct.

  • Hi eezytiger

thanks for the answer I can see that it is the same for me, the temperature shown on the map is correct.
    Thanks for the clarification :-)

  • If you want ambient temp, get a Tempe sensor (they're quite cheap) as the temp sensor inside the watch is really just for barometer/altimeter calculations. I stick my Tempe on my shoes for each run and I get good ambient T's

  • How do you think a device on your wrist can record anything different from the temperature of your wrist?

  • This morning I hiked on a mountain. Temperature recorded from Garmin Tempe ranged from 10°C at the start to 6°C at the summit.

On the activity map in Garmin Connect it fetched the temperature from a sea level airport which measured 14°C (don’t know if at the start or the end).

To make a long story short: get a Garmin Tempe or ignore anything that’s temperature related.

  • from the weather app on the watch. As above, it is obviously using this temp for the map as the average but the graph of temp throughout the activity is from the watch which is your body temp/ambient temp so it is inaccurate. I want it to graph the temp from the weather app, not the watches temp
