16.60 firmware bricked my Fenix 6S Pro

Few days ago in the morning my watch stopped working. Just green triangle without any continuation.

Tried soft reset - it only turned on and off it, without help.

Tried hard reset - there are no signals on which particular buttons should be released.

All manipulations were performed during watch connected to PC, tried again in several hours (to be sure that battery is charged) - result is the same. Watch memory card is not visible at PC, just "Garmin USB GPS".

Then I opened current forum and observed numerous similar issues which were caused by deadly firmware update during that night.

I've installed Garmin Express. It connects to the watch, but when I'm logging into to update or maybe renew somehow that 16.60 firmware, but I do receive message "There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers."

Tried WebUpdater as well, it detects the watch but it fails with message "The update file is corrupted."

I assume I do not have a warranty since I've bought not in official store in my country. I'm very disappointed taking into account that I was happy Garmin user (it was my first device) and was using it everyday for my sport activities.

Please help to resolve this firmware update issue.

Can you browse the watch contents via Windows Explorer - is there a update.gcd file in /Garmin

No, as I said

Watch memory card is not visible at PC, just "Garmin USB GPS" device.

It is only visible at Windows Device Manager and WebUpdater which fails to update it.

Did you contact Garmin yet? You should still see what they say even if you think it's out of warranty.

For the Webupdater to work, Garmin Express must be completely closed. Also the background process. Did you close Express completely before connecting the watch to the webupdater ?

Don't lose heart. Garmin replaced my Fenix 5 when it died and it was out of warranty - for nothing. The one thing I will say is that my real-world interactions with Garmin have been fantastic.

Can you remove it from device manager, then re-connect it and see if you can get fresh drivers from Windows Update? Sorry I missed the "not explorable" thing!

@ bluefish Same issue. Removed GE an WU (completely with temporary files at OS), restarted PC, installed WU - same error (moreover it was clearly visible via progress bar that downloading of 16.60 by WU was done, i.e. not cached before).

Still no reply from Garmin (received only email confirmation from [email protected] on May 20th).

Guys, from your experience - is there any chance to receive some response/help how to unbrick the watch?
