Unable to use Garmin Pay

I am posting this again because I get no answers from Garmin support and I hope somebody will answer here and help me understand if there is something I’m missing or if I need to return the watch.

I used Garmin pay with no issues at all until the last software release. Ever since, Garmin Pay does not work anymore. No terminal will read my cards. I checked with my bank and there is nothing wrong on their end. What I did:

  1. removed all my cards from Garmin Pay on the Garmin connect app and added them back.
  2. Removed the watch from my account and added it back.
  3. Performed a full reset of the watch (delete data and reset settings)
  4. Restarted both the watch and my cell phone many times.

None of the above worked. Garmin Connect app version for iOS 4.42.1.3. Garmin Fenix 6x Sapphire software version 16.60 and iOS version 14.5.1
