Firmware 16.60 - Fenix 6x Pro Solar Battery drain

So over the night my Fenix 6x Pro Solar auto updated to firmware 6.60.  I was excited, but when I went to bed my percentage was at about 58%, but then when I woke up it was at 30%.  In the last couple hours along with keeping the watch in the sun charging I have already dropped 2%.  I did a restart first thing this morning.

Not sure if others are experiencing this.

  • I'm seeing severe battery drain too (Fenix 6 Pro) since last night. I seem to be dropping ~3%/hr, and that's without doing any activities/GPS/music/etc. - just using it as a normal watch with HR monitoring. I have done a reboot, and am now fully recharging it and will monitor, but usually i lose like 0.3-0.5%/hr in this scenario. Will see if it 'self-fixes'......

  • What is weird for me I was using SolarTime 2.0 watchface, I moved off of that to the built in watchface.  Since then though my battery has been working fine.  So will try testing out the watchface to see if that makes it worse.  Though the solartime did not affect my battery that terribly prior to the update.

  • The restart should help, if not let us know.

I've been on 16.60 for a couple days now, and I charged my watch to 100% (22 days) last night before bed. This morning it's at 99% (still 22 days). So all is good on my 6x. I did restart it after the update, as I try to make a habit of doing after every update.

  • I have a similar problem with Fenix 6x sapphire (Firmware 16.60). The watch had lasted three weeks before the upgrade. a few activities a week and eco mode for the night. The battery lasted 20 to 22 days on average. I was hiking a few days ago and my watch died after 4 hours! in the middle of my trip! From 100% to 1% in four hours !!! I'm going to buy an additional GPS because I no longer trust the watch. I tried a hard reset twice (all data and settings and return to factory settings). Today I have 70% and yesterday I have 100% !!! I have no idea what's going on and I'm tired of re-setting everything up after two times. I never install widgets or watch faces and etc. No other software was not already on the watch.- after a bad experience with Fenix 5x. If anyone has any suggestions, I'll be grateful.

  • + another for battery drain on my Fenix 6x pro Solar after 16.60 update. Battery drain now about 2% per hour, so if I project the trend I'm down to around 2 days without any activity tracking. Disappointed

  • Hard reboot (not full reset) seems to have fixed it for me. Now running at 0.2%/hr.

  • Press-and-hold top left button for a good few seconds (30 or so?) until the watch turns off. I waited another 30 secs then restarted as normal. Good luck!

  • No update of BLE software causing dropouts with users of Jaybird earbuds since v6.11 released in August 2020… What a shame…

  • Hello, I listened to 4400548, and so did - hard reboot (not full reset). It's been 24 hours and it has dropped from 100% to 95%, 5% per day. Which gives about 20 days. I don't want to jinx it but so far it looks good!!! Tomorrow I will train a little with the watch and later I will describe in the next post how the battery works.
