  • Same issue for me, since the FW 22.0, I think.

I tried with different wifi networks and with different routers or smartphones.

It's not an hardware problem, because the F6X can sync data by wifi, but at the end of the process, the error message appears ...

I can't  understand why it is so long for Garmin to solve it. The problem easy to duplicate, and occurs on many devices. It should be easy to notify it ...

  • As I also wrote in my reply to your direct message, I am not involved in HRV sync problem at all, even if I am deeply involved in wifi sync failed message.

So even if  this means a loss of one user to find a clear pattern behind this “sync failed”, I wish to be correct and fair.

Nevertheless I still sync something smells as regards wifi sync failed message, because its appearance in 2022 across various Garmin watches is much higher than it happened earlier. So I guess the root cause will be found if somebody finds what common changes happened in the softwares of these product in 2022. But it is not my job to think about it, I just wished to share my thoughts…

    EDIT:

OOOPS, I had a big misunderstanding. When everybody complained about the missing HRV data after a wifi sync, I thought I had no problem with HRV, because I could see my HRV status and the 7 day value.

It was just today when I scrolled down in GCM and I could see that that there is a chart section, which has no data for some days, like today. So it seems I have exactly the same problem as the others as regards missing HRV data.

  • Thank you for your message.
I confirm sending PM and GC logs.
I also hope that Garmin will solve all problems with synchronization via WIFI (not only those related to HRV).
That's why I have a request to post WIFI problems to make Garmin's work easier.
  • This morning, a while after waking, but without opening my GCM app I tried syncing with WiFi. It started syncing, but failed. I tried a second time and it failed again. Then I opened GCM and let that sync - quite quickly and without error or any message - and both sleep and HRV stats were present, including last night's HRV data.

I tried another WiFi sync. This time I received a "this is taking a long time" message, followed by sync starting and then sync failed. I tried again with the same message and failure.

Back at GCM I synced again, but this time I got a "processing delayed, check back later" message. I tried again with the same outcome.

This is exactly the same behaviour described in my beta error report. Nothing has changed here. The only reason I have not reported it again, until now, is that I do not use/need WiFi sync, preferring always to use GCM, where I can actually see my up to date values. Today was purely a test to see if the bug remains.

I have recorded the above WiFi sync fails and can upload to YouTube if engineering cares to watch. Naturally I am using 23.10, shown on my final video for proof.

    Cheers,

    Tim

p.s. After writing the above I tried another WiFi sync - failed. Then I synced with GCM - no check back later message - completed. Final try with WiFi - failed.

  • Workaround to Receive HRV to Your Garmin Connect:

HRV will sync through Bluetooth using the Connect Mobile APP or through using Garmin Express on a computer.

  •  The morning wifi sync failed.

I checked the GC  web account as requested.

In Health Stats group all the tabs show the latest data, so everything was synced.

Unfortunately in Health Stats there is no HRV Status tab, so I cannot check whether the overnight HRV chart was synced, but in GC mobile it is missing. So HRV data was not synced

I went further to Reports, and the last daily HRV data (I mean he daily average) is missing in the HRV status tab.

Note: So far I have never checked GC web as regards intraday health data, so I dont know where I should see the HRV overnight/intraday chart (not the daily data chart)

  • I disabled Bluetooth on my phone yesterday afternoon in order to make sure that nothing was synced except over WiFi.

I then recorded 6 hours of "cardio" as I pottered around the house, had my usual sleep overnight and then an indoor bike ride and second fake "cardio" activity before attempting a WiFi sync.

WiFi sync took a while, with the "too long" warning message, and after a bit it "failed".

I checked data in Garmin Connect Web and everything looked to be in order with the exception of HRV data, which was not updated.

I tried another WiFi sync and that failed again.

Then I re-enabled Bluetooth on the phone and tried syncing with Garmin Connect Mobile. Everything was brought up to date there, except the HRV Status, which took about 3-4 repeated syncs over Bluetooth before it finally displayed on the phone and also GCW. Maybe it only needed one sync and time to process, but I managed to squeeze (roughly) four syncs in before it showed up.

So, it appears that the new HRV Status data has stuffed up WiFi sync, which is no surprise to me. I mean, new data source, sync stuffs up, put two and two together.

This was tested internally before going beta, right?

  • Interesting observation regarding the 'sync failed' error message that we made in the German forum. There seems to be a pattern. Sync always fails during the day, but always works in the evening. I know that sounds weird, but after reading this observation from another user, I tried to sync manually via WIFI during different times of the day for 2 consecutive days. There was a 0% success rate during the day (tested between 7:00 and 16:00 central European time), but a 100% success rate during the evening (tested between 18:30 and 22:30 CET).

    FYI

  • Oh oh, interesting ...

I just tried several time (21:20, CET), and indeed, it works ... Is it a coincidence ?

    Who want test it ?
