Bezel ring protector and GPS interference.

Hi, guys.

I was wondering if these bezel ring protectors on the market can obstruct the gps signal, considering the antena lies beneath the bezel or uses the bezel to receive the gps. I wish to buy one for my new F6 Pro, but any of you have experience about that?

I never experienced such problems, but I reckon it is entirely possible. However, I wouldn't lose my sleep: GPS track is mediocre without protector, and mediocre with.

Have used those in the past, have had no issues and for me GPS accuracy has always been spot on, both with and without the bezel ring cover. Do it!

I can't imagine a thin piece of rubber is going to impact GPS reception in any meaningful way.

If your watch has DLC bezel, I wouldn't bother with a protector, it's incredibly difficult to scratch the bezel, it would require such a hard and sharp impact to scratch it that the bezel protector would probably tear anyways.

You may have to calibrate the compass after installation...... When I used to use a stainless steel bracelet for instance... the compass would be troublesome even after calibration... So I use Titanium now with no issue... (you are talking about those metal bezel protectors?)

Just keep an eye on it.... and if its no good you can always take it off later and still have a prestine bezel

Hi C.sco. My protector is made of steel and I don't believe my bezel is DLC coated, considering I have the fenix 6 Pro. I have just installed the bezel ring protector. I will see if it causes any interference and let you guys know. ;)

Thank you for the tip. I hve just recalibrated the compass, let's test gps it gps now. :-)

Hm... That very well could impact GPS then. It might still work, but your accuracy might be worse.

Hi just thought I’d add to this conversation, have had the steel bezel protector on my F6Pro Solar and found that on a recent triathlon, my 55km bike lost signal at some point and became a 40km bike. Whereas my bike computer Edge 520, had the right distance.
The run was a little short too.
inly found this was potentially an issue at the weekend so I’ll monitor the accuracy and update here if I remember.

I honestly love my bezel ring. I think my sapphire glass would be scratched by now without it to be honest.

I don't get GPS issues at all.
