Spotify incomplete sync or no sync

Hi,

I recently upgraded from the Vivoactive 4 to the Fenix 6X pro. I'm trying to load Spotify play lists and keep on failing miserably. Spotify starts “Searching for Wi-Fi Network” ending up in “No Internetconnection”. Very dissapointing if you pay premium price for a premium sportswatch.

I did try tons of stuff already, amongst others:

  • Did perform multiple hard resets.
  • Did remove the Fenix from Garmin profiles in between, did also remove WIFI install beforehand.
  • Did multiple reinstalls using Garmin Webupdater.
  • First I thought WIFI was not connecting so tried multiple settings and networks. Only to find out I in the end did get an IP lease every single time, so WIFI login is not the problem.
  • On all networks with setting, public, wep, wpa, wpa2 aes or tpik Spotify fails to make connection. I have tried being on different networks with IOS Garmin Connect and the Fenix as well as being on the exact same network (as prescribed).
  • Did update the Fenix to version 16.10.

Only partly success I booked when connecting the Fenix to the hotspot function of my Iphone 6S (IOS 14.4.2). In this case the connection is made most of the times. Then downloading / syncing starts. Taking forever and resulting on success message, but always only syncing only one (1) number, makes no difference if you select a playlist of 2 numbers, of 9 numbers or 52 numbers. Always result only 1 Frowning2

I assume there to be some kind of bandwidth limitation issue or time-out issue in the software or protocol used by Garmin.

Does anybody have bright ideas or even workarounds to get Spotify playlist on the Fenix?

Does anybody know why Garmin does not simply offer the option to sync Spotify to your Fenix using a PC or Laptop via the sync cable and Garmin Express (PC) as 2nd alternative for WIFI?
