AirPods Pro stopped working five minutes into my trail run... (Fenix 6 Pro Solar)

Today, my AirPods Pro disconnected within five minutes of a trail run today while paired to my Fenix 6 Pro Solar. The connected fine and I was able to get through a song before they stopped working. The watch was still displaying that music should’ve been playing, but I couldn’t get them to reconnect. The AirPods were fully charged and I’ve had no issues with them connecting to other devices.

I tried to pause the run to figure it out, but I was lost on what to do. Any help is appreciated. One of the reasons I got this watch was to have music without my phone for longer runs.

Downgrade to bluetooth 5.04 or wear the watch on your right wrist. It’s a known bug that garmin still hasn’t fixed. I would suggest annoying tech support with an email too.

How do you downgrade the Bluetooth firmware?

I don’t use my AirPods Pro with my F6, but I do use them with another non-Apple device (AirFly Duo) occasionally and I have found that if there is any glitch that the AirPods won’t automatically reconnect with the other device without taking them out of my ears and putting them in their case first. I see this happen most often if I get a call on my iPhone for example while I am using them with the other device.

Sorry, not a solution (although it sounds like Andrewj-5991 has one), but just a suggestion to make sure that you do not have the AirPods connected to anything else that might “take over” the connection.

A $1,000 dollar watch can't work with headphones that are sold by the 10's of millions.

Solution, wear the watch on the other wrist. At least it works but the product is a joke.

I think so too. How long do we have to wait for this problem to be fixed? Due to music problems in my fenix 6, I bought an apple watch.

Please note that I've a Fenix 6X Pro Sapphire watch, so be carefull with the downgrade, if your modell is not a PRO, SAPPHIRE or SOLAR version!!!

Download the ANT/BLE/BT 5.04 file from here:

/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/431/ANT_5F00_BLE_5F00_BT_5F00_v504_5F00_Backdate.zip

Connect your watch with USB to your computer
Open the watch storage and to to GARMIN \ REMOTESW folder
Download the file above, extract it and copy the GUP3293.GCD file to your watch into the GARMIN \ REMOTESW folder.
Unplug the watch from your computer and the update notification will pop up for ANT/BLE/BT 5.04.
Complete the update, restart the watch and you can try the headphone.

If you decide to roll back and it works and you wan't to keep this state, go to the watch settings, SYSTEM, SOFTWARE UPDATE and disable the automatic update, because it will continuously update it back to 6.06.

Like others mention -- rollback to v5.0.4

but more importantly, raise the issue to garmin support. To many think this is an issue only with jaybird

the more people that raise an actual trouble ticket, to more we might actually get some traction for an issue that has been around FAR to long for some
