Please ensure that you are downloading the correct beta software for your specific device.

Instructions for installation are available below the change log on each of the above pages.

  • Have you looked at the power saving settings?

Hey there again, I put some hope in Power Settings but been blown off :-D (sorry, not sure if that makes sense)

After that I had an idea of making Power Mode which would turn off the Backlight - Power Modes -> My Mode -> Backlight -> Turn Off. But it seems I have no idea what that should do. :-D My expactation was it overrides BL settings in the System and kind of sets Gesture and such to off state.

Do u have any idea what that option means?

  • @C.sco and @muppetman - I am still on 15.71 beta and I can confirm that the green LEDs do flash during power save in sleep periods and are NOT solidly green.

So you have a regression between 15.71 b and 16.00 RC

Well, I checked again the next night and the green LEDs were flashing, not solid... so it doesn't seem to be an issue all the time. I'm not sure if it's even an "issue" at all yet, it might be acting perfectly normal, I'm not sure

  • Few days ago after TACX ride, my running VO2max on watch was changed from 46 to 52, which is same as on bike. Today I run after a month and I get 52 too, even on runalyze is 51.62 but previous run I got 46.21 and I know how I feel. It's some bug, I can´t have VO2 52 while running. Does anybody faced same issue? I updated to 16.10 and will se what will happened after next run.

  • Since the temperature sensor is affected by the body temperature and is not real temperature anymore and useless in Fenix 6 Pro, how do i turn this sensor off to save for the battery? Thx!

  • The temperature sensor is used by the barometer.

  • thanks silentvoyager! got it.

if i just do normal road running, is it okay to turn off the barometer for saving the battery? is the barometer is used by any other features?

  • I don't think you can turn off the barometer, but whatever battery it's using is negligible.

In addition to barometric pressure readings (which is something most people don't really care about), the barometer sensor is used for the altimeter (which IS something most people care about).

The barometer senses atmospheric pressure, the thermometer tells the watch what temperature the barometer sensor is, and together they are used for determining altitude.

They give us a temperature datafield for 3 purposes:

    1. So we can take off-body measurements, by removing the watch and setting it somewhere
    2. So we can take accurate water temperature readings while wearing the watch
    3. So we can see what a remote Tempe Sensor is reading.

A lot of people assume there's a 4th reason: So we can take ambient air temperature while wearing the watch. But as you already know, it doesn't (and can't) work that way on this (or any other) watch.

So if You don't want to use the temperature datafield for one of those 3 purposes, then just simply remove it from your activities, and that's all you need to do. No need, benefit, or (to my knowledge) ability to turn off the sensor.

  • I don't think it consumes that much energy to start with. It is pretty negligible compared to GPS, optical HR sensor, and screen updates.
