  • OK, I get what you are saying, so the settings in System->Backlight don't work for you?

As you do get quite fine grained control of when the backlight comes on, for example during activity, not during etc, or sleep which seems to cover almost every case. Are these ignored in DND?

I do not see the backlight if I don't want to - but I don't use Do Not Disturb, I guess my sleep times cover that scenario.

  • Interesting. OK thank you, wonder what's causing it for me, must be the watchface I have selected or similar. Thanks!

I think for reboots and random restarts, CIQ add-ons should always be disabled as first course of action to see if the problem continues afterwards. Eliminate the obvious first I think is the way to go.

  • sleep which seems to cover almost every case. Are these ignored in DND?

    Changelog from 14.72 beta :

    • Fixed an issue where ‘Do Not Disturb’ prevents gesture backlight from working during the sleep window.
      • Edit, 01/19/21: To clarify, We made this change because the Backlight "During Sleep" setting can now be controlled in a new area. Rather than "Do Not Disturb" automatically disabling the backlight gesture for you, you can manually select what backlight behavior you want to see during your sleep window. Please see the setting options via Menu - System - Backlight - During Sleep. The default for this setting is off, but you can change this if you would like to see the Gesture setting work during your sleep window.
  • Thanks, so I'm not sure what problem he is having that the system->backlight setting which I suggested in my post you quoted above doesn't solve.

I'm not really getting what the bug here actually is? The system->backlight stuff seems to do what he wants.

I guess I am missing something so I'll bow out.

  • first time i have to say i have battery drain. I never used any external devices (i 'm oldtimer), but after 15k (1:25h) recovery run i lost 20 percent of battery. I'm worried about my july 24h run. Should i buy more watches for that to be sure i woun't run without watch ?

  • Two different modes - Sleep mode and DnD

DnD stopped firing Backlight in those days - they changed the behaviour

Backlight got new item - Sleep time, well, that's Sleep time - only during explicitly set hours (every1 know how that works)

For me, the change they made, is regression bug - they call it a feature

Many users used DnD as - no notifications & stop firing backlight :-D

That's why I'm asking if this version has updated System->Backlight ;-) and if the option for DnD is on boards / or if that's planned at least

Yes, I know, there are plenty of other bugs.
