Fenix 6 Pro + Wahoo Tickr Not showing live heart rate during activity

Using my Garmin Fenix 6 Pro on my road bike (mounted to handlebars) with Wahoo Tickr chest HRM. Has always worked fine and last use was only three days ago with no issues

This morning I started the watch & HRM as normal and took off. I soon realised while cycling my heart rate was just showing whatever it was when I started cycling, it was essentially frozen. I stopped to look into the issue and all of a sudden my watch started showing the real heart rate - jumping from 90bpm to 120bpm instantly. As soon as I started cycling, the heart rate data essentially 'froze'. After 3-4 road side stops to try to troubleshoot the issue, including removing HRM, disconnecting and reconnecting HRM to the watch, and starting a new cycling activity on the watch, I gave up.

I've had my Fenix 6 Pro since December 2020, it's up to date and everything else works as you would expect.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated as this essentially renders my HRM & training to heart rates useless.

Never ceases to amaze but virtually without exception when a third party sensor is used with a Garmin watch there seems to be an implied assumption that it is the Garmin watch that is at fault.

Have you checked the battery in the sensor?

I haven't replaced it as when I am sitting still it's working just fine. I also can't see any way to check the battery level inside the Wahoo app. I'll replace it and see what happens on my commute this morning.

I have multiple TickR straps and this is a symptom of weak battery in all of them.

When the batteries are new they measure at 3.2V. When the trouble starts the voltage is below 2.85V. A new battery always restores normal service.

It's also worth making sure that your skin (or strap) is wet enough for a good electrical connection to your body. Dry skin can also create unreliable data. I usually soak one or other prior to exercise for certainty of proper function.

Hi, i have also 2 Tickr Straps with the same problem. they stuck at 120 bpm. The Garmin HRM-run works. It suddnly happend with both of them. I changed the battery.

I use my Tickr all the time now, works great. Battery warning for the Tickr on the watch popped up yesterday so that works as well.
