F6Pro Locked up & cannot Hard Reset

I came to start an activity on my F6Pro today & noticed the watch had frozen displaying the watch face. The buttons would beep when pressed but would not do anything

I held the power button to force a power off & when powered back on it remained stuck at 'Loading FIT files'.

I tried to connect it to the PC from powered off so I could delete any fit files on the watch, but again it stays at 'Loading FIT Files' & doesn't connect

So I powered it off again attempted a hard reset; holding the back/lap button while powering on. The Yes/No options to reset the watch are displayed, but the up/down buttons just beep & don't allow me to select 'yes'.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I might be able to resolve it?

Power off

Power on then immediately press top and bottom right buttons.

On first beep release top right

On second beep release bottom right

If that doesn’t work Contact Garmin Support

Cheers @philipshambrook that's the Hard Reset done.

Now I've got to set everything up again. It's not quite as easy to restore from a backup than it is for the edge devices

Glad that got you back up and working. Hopefully it will stay that way and not happen again.

Was that a stock watch face you had installed when it froze?

It was a CIQ watch face M2. I've been using it with the same config for over a year now. That's not to say an update couldn't have introduced an instability.

The watch has been working pretty well for some time now though sleep tracking on the watch had been flaky for a couple of days. Earlier that day I'd used it to broadcast HR to my Edge just fine & I'd received and acknowledged a smart notification a few minutes before.
