Upload music without update

Guys,

I want to upload some mp3s to the watch, but I'm currently on FW 13.10. Is my understanding correct that if I do it via Garming Express I'll be forced to update to latest official FW? I'm currently relatively happy with the FW and don't want to risk spoiling it with new buggy FW. Any thoughts on how to avoid it?

You plug your watch into your computer via USB cable and copy the mp3 files directly to the file system, from memory it's in the GARMIN\music folder - it's pretty obvious where it goes anyway.

I actually do this via a Chromebook to avoid Garmin Express backdoor upgrade naughtiness, but you can achieve the same thing by killing Garmin Express or just disable your network connections temporarily so it can't check the servers for new firmware.
