Do manual edits affect Training Status and Recovery Advisor?

I use the Indoor Ride activity for my Peloton rides and then after I’m done I manually enter distance, speed, output, and cadence avg/max values. Do those manual inputs affect Training Status and Recovery Advisor? It doesn’t seem to affect Recovery Advisor because the number of recovery hours didn’t change after I entered the values but I though I’d check.

A while back, there was mention of Virtual Bike in the works - would that theoretically make any difference (maybe based on any folks’ experience with Virtual Run)?

  • No, it does not make a difference. Training status and recovery advisor are based mostly on HRV data, workout time, and other data the watch already has using algorithms from Firstbeat and as far as I know distance, speed, etc are not factored into the calcualtions. As long as you are recording good heart rate data it should be reasonably accurate.
