Fenix 6x pro conflicting sensor configuration

I have an elite turbo trainer (direct drive fluid trainer), with Misuro ANT+/BT sensor

I also have a garmin speed/cadence sensor on the bike I use on it.

The misuro sensor outputs power on 1 channel and "speed/cadence" on another. (Cadence makes no sense as the sensor is purely at the hub within the trainer)

My sensors are registered, and configured to connect.

When starting a session the following sequence occurs:

1. HR strap pairs

2. Garmin cadence sensor pairs

3. Misuro power pairs

4. Misuro cadence/speed pairs => garmin cadence then reads as "disconnected".

If I force the garmin cadence sensor to connect... then I lose (4) completely: I cant see how to just use "speed" from that profile

I want 3 readings:

1. Power from the misuro

2. Speed from the misuro

2. Cadence from the garmin sensor

On my old 910xt it was possible to say what class each "sensor" actually is (ie pick what metrics to use from the published sensor profile)... and cherry pick speed and/or cadence at the device registration/settings screen. I always used to have my cadence/speed sensor registered just for cadence... and speed from GPS

Is this possible on the 6x pro... I cant see anything in the sensor settings menus to do this?

  • I'm not sure of the Misuro specifically, but most recent DD trainers calculate cadence, and include this in the datastream.

The F6 and the trainer sound like they are performing correctly under the ANT+ protocols for power and trainers.

  • The Misuro sensor is indirect (but actual) power. It knows the RPM -> power conversion at the hub for the trainer so W is predictable. Its not connected to the drivetrain so cant measure cadence. Speed seems pretty accurate though... I can pedal in a certain gear at a certain RPM... and quick maths work out my speed and its maybe 0-0.5 out at times... but pretty decent. Again that is the headset doing the work based on the hub rpm (akin to a hub-based rpm sensor)

So back to my question: can i configure sensors in the same way as the 910xt or have we regressed a bit of functionality here?
