UTC Time Format in pre-loaded Watchfaces

To me MILITARY TIME means you are using a 24 hours clock and has nothing to do with whether the hours and minutes are separated or not seperated. If you do a Google search of MILITARy TIME you will find sites that separate the hours and minutes and other sites that do not. Wikipedia reports that MILITARY TIME is defined by ISO standard 8601 and when you read the standard it says the time can be represented as HHMMSS or HH:MM:SS.

well, but if you relate to the garmin interpretation (and this is only one counting in this case), military time means leading zero and no column and if I set this, the column in the time of the day and next sun event is gone, but on the UTC time field it stays, and this is not consistent...

The ISO standard indicates that either format is acceptable. Garmin is a big company and I bet different people may have been involved in programmering the two sets of code. And while you see the differences as inconsistent I suspect that you will either need to learn to live with it or buy a watch from a different company.

LoL, it was just a question and my intention was not to discuss ISO standards or if I shall buy a new watch. I was just curious that certain settings does not seem to affect all related datafields. Answers like "if you don't like this, buy a different watch" are not very helpful in a user forum. If nothing useful can be added to a certain topic, there is still a possibility to simply ignore it ;)

I wasn't telling you to buy a different watch. I was suggesting that it is likely Garmin will not change it and that you would have to accept the inconsistency or if you did not want to that you would need to buy a watch from a company that was consistent based on your definition.

United States military time has no ‘:’. It’s 24hr time expressed as a 4 digit number. There are always 4 digits so the single digit hours always start with 0. It’s pronounced as two separate 2 digit numbers or the left 2 digits as a number followed by “hundred”. 

- 1200 is “twelve hundred” (noon)

- 2245 is “twenty two forty five” (10:45pm)

- 0300 is “zero three hundred” or “oh three hundred” (3am)

There are also suffixes that indicate the time zone. “Zulu” or Z is UTC (zero meridian time). Alpha (A) is UTC+1 and it continues that way to Mike (M), UTC+12. November (N) is UTC-1 to Yankee (Y) UTC-12. (Note this doesn’t match all possible political time zones. India has time zones on the half hour.)

All this by way of saying the standard data widgets should show 4 digits without a : and UTC should be Z when in military time mode, to be consistent.
