Swimrun and multisport mode? and Quick release.

Hi,

Looking at Forerunner 945/Fenix 6S pro and the crux of it for me is swim run and quick release kits.

At the moment I have a 920xt which is limited in how many 'multisport' legs you can have so I'm wondering if anyone knows the max for multisport mode? Also the Fenix page seems to imply it has a separate swim run mode under swimming which the 945 lacks. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not? Also do they also both have pocket mode?

I have my 920xt on a quick release kit one of the old school ones where the quarter turn mount is on the strap and then on your bike so you can twist the watch bit off but are left with the strap on your wrist (I use this as I struggle to get my wetsuit off over the 920xt so can twist it off, wetsuit off, and then either just pop it back on the strap which has stayed on my wrist or put it on my bike depending on what activity is up next) - it doesn't look like that is possible with the Fenix 6s quick fit kit? But then maybe it is much easier to get a wetsuit off over it as the 920xt is quite chunky on the quick release kit haha.

Any advice or comments welcome as there doesn't seem to be a lot out there about swim run mode especially

Thanks

  • I just created a test custom multisport event on my F6- 5 legs, plus transitions. There is also the option for repeats, so potentially you could repeat that sequence of 5 indefinitely.

Not sure what pocket mode is?

  • The 945 has Swimrun as does the F6. I guess there’s a limit to the number of swim run legs somewhere but I’ve done an event with 24 transitions and no problems.

What do you mean by ‘pocket mode?’

There is no Fenix QR kit equivalent to the 920 however, there is for the 945 but it is bulky. Quick fit straps do allow the F6 to be quickly secured to the bike mount. Since I’m not at the pointy end of the field I’ve taken the time to remove the watch and hold it in my teeth while pulling off my wetsuit then putting it back on. Not bothered to use the F6 on the bike mount for triathlons, just left it on my wrist.
