Sideload Skywatch App

I came to love the Skywatch app on my Fenix 3, but sadly it is not compatible with the Fenix 6x.

However, someone in the Garmin IQ reviews for Skywatch said that they had successfully sideloaded the Skywatch app to their Fenix 6x.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to sideload an app such as Skywatch to my Fenix 6x. I cannot even download the PRG file from Garmin IQ, because I do not have a compatible device.

It's not a widget but an activity (like Running, Hiking, Navigating.etc...)

You need someone who has the app installed to first find the correct prg file and the corresponding settings file and then copy them. Files are not easily named...

You copy them to the same folder on your 6x and hope that they work and that the app don't give you any other trouble. It could be developed using a too old iq sdk.You cannot change settings. Probably the app appear greyd out in IQ store mobile app.

Dang, it didn't work. I copied the PRG file to the \Garmin\Apps folder, but the watch didn't do anything with it, and it doesn't show up at all on my list of widgets.

I really love that Skywatch widget, and I read a post from a guy who says he successfully loaded it onto a F6x.
