Messenger location sharing notification

I have a Galaxy S9 and fenix 6x Pro.

Whenever I use location sharing out of Facebook Messenger I get a notification on the watch every 60 seconds or so giving me a minute by minute countdown that location sharing is active.

Anyone else get that?

I disabled it by turning off the location sharing notification in the phone but obviously it doesn’t show on the phone any more either. Anyone know a way around this?

I did find a workaround as it was messaging both my Fenix 6x Pro and Edge 530 devices although strangely, it never messaged my car /Android Auto which also receives Messenger notifications which is why…

The location notifications are not coming from your watch but from your FB Messenger APP. You will not be able to impact the behavior from your watch settings. You are dependent on the Facebook Messenger…

I have the same problem. Someone from Garmin please comment on it. I want to receive notification of people messanging me, but no of the location every 60seconds.

The location notifications are not coming from your watch but from your FB Messenger APP. You will not be able to impact the behavior from your watch settings. You are dependent on the Facebook Messenger APP settings options as seen through your Android phone.

Anyhoo, if you go to the phone settings (Galaxy S9 on Android 10)

Phone > Settings > Notifications > Messenger > Ongoing Services > OFF.
That will stop the location sharing notifications but still allow normal Messenger notifications.

I also have another weird notification issue, if I reply to a text message on my watch with the inbuilt “ok” or “yes” etc, I get a notification of that response as a text message.
