Fenix 6 titanium strap (preferably vented but otherwise the classic) - will it fit the Fenix 3 ?

Hi, I'm still using a Fenix 3 quite happily but I'd really like the vented titanium strap on it, which comes with the Fenix 6x Pro. Does anyone know if this would fit the 3? Looks like the widths are identical but I can't tell if they made any crucial changes that would negate being able to fit it to the 3, like making the pins thicker/thinner or something. Hoping someone who has the 6 still has the 3 kicking around in a drawer and can physically check it! Thanks in advance.

  • Always a good idea to check before you buy (or have someone else verify it for you) because as you’re rightly saying, it should but for example not all straps from the Marq series fit F6 despite having the same width.

  • Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I love the thick bars on the 3 as they feel a lot more robust for triathlons and sports than the thinner, quick release ones with pins that I had on the Chronos. I was always worried about using that for multisports as I didn't want it to come off and disappear. I wish they would make a steel or titanium strap with a diver extension. With my silicone strap, I always have to loosen it by one hole about 15 minutes after i get in bed, as my wrists must expand with the heat. If I leave it on that setting in the day its too loose to pick up the optical HR. I looked everywhere for a 26mm strap with extension clasp that would fit the fenix 3 thick pins but never found one. I don't think even the Descent strap has one, from what I can tell.

  • It should be all right.
    26mm wide on both watch.
The thickness of the Fenix 3 bar should not be a concern as it is the same as the Fenix 5X and 5X Plus (and I have used a lot of customs titanium on them)
(as you know 6X as switched to springbars...)

  • Thanks, Nemo. You said the 6X has switched to spring bars, I had the 5 and the Chronos for a while which had spring bars, and they were much thinner than the 3 bars. I don't know the technical term for them but the bars with a pin that you could pull to release the wacth strap from the watch, it was different from the quick release straps that you pull the catch under the strap. Does this mean the 6x bars are now thinner than the Fenix 3 bars?

  • Sorry, just re-read what you wrote and I see you answered my question: the 5 and 5X have the same thick bars as the 3 but the 6x has the thinner ones with the quick release pin.

  • My only issue with my vented titanium jaws was with thick Seiko spring bars.
I think they are 2.5mm thick.
The bracelet jaws cannot "swallow" them.

Here the link. So it can give you the maximum the quickfit jaws can accept.

As is the case with ALL 26mm QuickFit straps, the vented Titanium bracelet is a perfect fit on the fenix 3:

The fixed fenix 3 bars are the same diameter as the spring bars on the fenix 6X - both are 2.3mm.

Also, the fenix 6 sring bars are not the "quick release" type with a pin, they are normal style spring bars, just a little thicker than a generally available 26mm spring bar.

  • Thanks, Nemo, greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks very much Gaijin. The phots really help too.
