Long press light bug with 15.20

Since some update, backlight is activated on myF6X Pro as soon as the light button is pressed, it doesn't check whether you're pressing for control menu or the light.

Yes, you are right, this is an annoying new behavior that some would call a "bug" and others a "feature".

Long press also turns on backlight when Settings-> Backlight-> .. -> Keys-> Off -- which doesn't make sense!!

Correct behavior:
- Short press: should turn on backlight any time.
- Long press: should just bring up the control menu; and also turn on backlight if Settings-> Backlight-> ... -> Keys-> On or After Sunset (to be consistent with the other keys long press behavior).

Seems like every time they try to fix something they break something else that was working fine up to that moment. And they are also ignoring the bug report emails...

Also, off-topic: gesture "during activity" is only half working when you compare it to "not during activity"; raising the arm turns on backlight, lowering the arm should turn off backlight -- but it doesn't "during activity", it just remains on until timeout, just to uselessly waste battery!!

Just checked my 6X, and it is doing the same behavior that you guys are describing. I probably wouldn't have even noticed it if I didn't see this thread honestly. But I agree that I would prefer the logic to go back to the way it was before.

Long pressing the light button should NOT turn on the backlight. My watch is Fenix 6X.

Same here - 6X Sapphire. I did notice it right after the update yesterday when I long pressed the light button to turn off the watch as I usually do after an update.

This should come as no surprise. You’re spot on, they «fix» one thing ,and break two, Garmin quality software team. Useless and arrogante.

This is happening since Beta 15.01 on MARQ watches. I did report it to the beta team. But they couldn't find a problem and wanted me to send a video ... must have had contact to a really specialist!

Im really thinking of selling my tactix delta. Allways new bugs in software, the lack of data options in native watchfaces, ciq watchfaces uses a lot more battery and can only be configured with internet conection and so on... :-(

And ... unbelievable ... it is still in the new beta 15.71. Someone might send them a video to show what is going on ..

In the grand scheme of things, I think some of you are overreacting a little. I'm seeing insults hurled at Garmin staff over what's basically a minor UI glitch that doesn't affect the functionality whatsoever... I think some of us are spending way too much time on the internet instead of outside exercising.
