Hi all, sorry to repeat a new threat that for sure was completely deal on the forum before, but my though and the dilemma that I have I never seen it before in the internet forums.
I have clear the differences between both models, and based only on the size, I know that my wrist can handle the 6x without problems getting a larger screen and battery duration on this model that always are greater features.
My doubts are more based on the rear case and the differences between both models, from my point of view, seems that the 6 pro has more accuracy than 6x pro to measure the hr and the pulse ox due the shape of the rear cover.
I have been testing both models with the following procedure:
- using them during night sleep
- strap tight but comfortable for 24/7 wear on the same arm
- pulse ox during night connected
My experience or test is based on the measure of the pulse ox because seem more sensible to movement and also to a possible small gaps between the sensor and the skin during the sleep.
The results:
fenix 6 pro: average pulse ox 97%
fenix6x pro: average pulse ox 93%
I didn't make both comparisons in parallel, but I tested with same conditions of sleeps hours, stress, activity, etc so I think could be considered quite similar.
The only reason that I found to conclude this difference is based on the rear case of each one:
on the front there is small difference between both based on the size of the Ohr sensor that seems smaller on the fenix 6x pro than on the fenix6 pro, you can see it from a picture took from this forum:
But the real difference from my point of view is the different shape if you compare them from the side:
seen the picture my thought is that the 6 pro is more able to take accurate measures due the more bent rear cover than the fenix 6x pro that seems more flat than the other. This could benefit the 6 pro from 2 points:
- 1)the hr sensor is more sharpess on the 6 pro so the hr is more able to be on contact with the skin
- 2) due the sharply curverd rear case on the 6 pro, it could absorb better the arm movement maintain the hr directly on contact with the skin during arms movements like sleeping or weight lifting per example
I don´t want to open any new discussion, both models are greater watches and also to avoid any further discussion about the hr accuracy because we know the limitations of the optical hr measures; but i would like to know if somebody else could have a similar experience and confirm or add another point of view for this specific topic that I never seen on the forum when somebody ask for opinions about which size to choose.
Sorry for the lenght of the post,
Regards,
