Adding Tennis to watch activity list

The only option is to find an IQ app in the app store, that can record an activity of the required type.

I would just use Cardio, since it wouldn't really be tracking anything that any other Cardio activity doesn't track. Can't really expect Garmin to add a native activity to the watch for every different possible cardio activity - otherwise the list will have 300 activities in it, including ping-pong, shuffleboard, darts, badminton, water polo, bowling, jumping jacks, sex, tennis, tree climbing, rock skipping, etc etc etc... what's the point when they all do and measure exactly the same metrics?

While I generally agree with people that some sports/activities are missing from this outdoor-sports watch that SHOULD be there (ie, snowshoeing), I don't think every single activity that shows up as an option on Garmin Connect needs to be included on the watch. Drone flying, for example, is probably not needed. I don't think Tennis would really add anything either.

However, what would be REALLY cool, is if Garmin allowed us to define what a custom activity gets saved as on Connect. I've been begging for that for ages, but they still haven't given us that option. That would solve your problem, and everyone else's problems too, when it comes to not having the native activities we all want.

Hi all. I have been wondering why Garmin do not have Tennis metrics/app. It is the #4 world sport (after soccer, basketball and cricket).

Garmin watches do have accelerometer (among other sensors), so we could have an app with swing metrics, number of strokes and so on, further just a few other (useful) metrics like heart rate, steps, distance, etc

Maybe with some coding we could have it?

Still wondering why activities such as stand up paddling, pilates, floor climb and stair stepper and included but not tennis. 

After update today 2022-04-05 I can see that Tennis is available as a separate sport to be included. You can choose indoor or outdoor version as well.

That's great - where do I find it to add?

My watch is updated but there is no tennis option as an activity?

Go to the very bottom of the activities list and select "Add". There you'll find "Tennis".

Thanks for that, but it isn't in the list?

Fixed it - I updated via the computer and it showed up in the list, even though I was updated via the watch itself. Confused, but happy it now works.
