Hello,
I started making use of Garmin's daily workout suggestions functionality shortly after release.
While I can only speak subjectively I've found this feature to be a game changer. Not only has it ensured my Training Status is consistently balanced, it's given me a fresh perspective and insight into training loads/effect and how my training and physiological metrics interrelate. If you've not yet tried it then I seriously suggest giving it a go - and stick with those low aerobic 'Recovery' and 'Base' suggestions even if, like me, you thirst for those high intensity runs!
However, I have noticed a (reproducible) bug in this feature. This occurs when the suggested workout is a 'Tempo' activity. I am unsure if it affects any other suggested workouts.
For example, today my fenix 6 Sapphire (Software Version 13.10 6a3747c) suggested a 65 min (145 BPM) Tempo run. I started the workout and worked through the initial 10 min/125 BPM warmup before shifting up a gear to the next (145 BPM) step, as directed by the fenix/workout. No issues. However, after the 45 minute tempo run is completed and just before the fenix/workout switches to the next step (a 10 min/125 BPM cool down) the fenix 6 displays the average HR for the newly completed tempo activity.
Today my average HR for the tempo run was 146 BPM. My fenix 6 should display 'AVG 146 BPM' on screen. However, I've noticed that the last HR digit is always missing. What I actually see is 'AVG 14 BPM'. There is basically a blank space where the last digit should be. I should mention that the correct HR (in this case 146 BPM) is always recorded correctly by my fenix and Connect. In this respect the issue is irksome, but certainly not mission critical. it seems to be just the displayed (avg) BPM metric only that's missing a digit.
I hope this can be patched in a future update.
Thanks for reading.
John
