Fenix 6 Pro - Cycling Navigation

HI All,

I have a Fenix 6 PRO and I have an issue when trying to navigate routes created on Garmin Connect.

Let me list the steps:

1) Create the Route/map (Cycling map over 60Km)

2) Importing map on my F6PRO

3) Starting Cycling activity and navigating Map

4) Activity stuck on "calculating"

PS: I have no issues on navigating Wikilocs routes and no issue on the calculating step

Can you please advise, how I can create my own route and navigate them on my watch without issue on calculating the route? What do I do wrong?

Navigation> Alerts> Turn Prompts = On.

Have you set the routing options in the used app to "follow course"? Sounds like you have set it to "follow map"

Thanks for the tip. I have another question. How can I correctly set the navigation now? I do see the route and it tells me how off the course I’m, but I don’t get the turnbyturn suggestions. Any thoughts? Thank Simone

Thanks for all your replies.

I’ve followed your suggestions and I can load the map quickly, see my pointer and get the notification when I go outside the route. lHowever i do not receive any notifications regarding “turns”. Even the map/display tells me only the kms left till the end of the route and I do not see any turning suggestions.

how can I get a nice riding experience when I do not know the route? How can I correctly upload my track and follow it throughout? Is there any tutorial on this?just drive me crazy...

Did you create the route on Garmin Connect? I've found that not all route creators include the waypoints the watch needs for turn by turn navigation. For me it works with Garmin Connect and Strava routes.

No sorry, I've only created routes using Strava and Garmin Connect. I haven't followed any cycling routes in the past months though I managed to get hiking navigation by uploading the gpx to Garmin Connect and then sync it to the watch so that should work the same for cycling.

If you want full control over where your turn notifications pop up, use Plotaroute.com. There are a few threads here that discuss navigation and Plotaroute.
