Impossible pairing with iphone

Hi,

I just received a new Fenix 6 Pro from Garmin aftersales, it was very long: Almost 3 months to get a replacement for a faulty battery. I finally got it now, and it is a nightmare to pair it with my iPhone 11 Pro (iOS 14.3, and watch in 13.10). I tried everything I could think about:

- Erasing from the paired items on the iphone (Garmin App, Bluetooth list, and even garmin connect website)

- Restarting both

- Bluetooth on and off

- Resetting the watch

- Deleting and reinstalling the garmin App, and trying all over again.

And... Nothing of the above works, It’s so frustrating! The app sees the watch, the pairing process starts with the 6 digits to enter on the phone, and it stops there. Every time, it fails to pair... I had by the past some difficulties with the iphone and the iOS garmin connect app (delay or problem syncing), but never like this.

I tried pairing it with my girlfriend’s Samsung Galaxy A40, and it works, so frustrating.

Do you have any idea on what might resolve it ? Is this a known problem for iOS users?

Thanks in advance

  • Have you tried syncing with Garmin Express? Sometimes that fixes a lot of things. Otherwise there is this fix, but you might have already seen this thread - Can't pair my Garmin watch to my iPhone

  • HI, Thanks, but yes I tried this already. After a few long hours researching, I tried by creating a new garmin account, and with that, no problem... So it seems that the problem comes from my garmin account. I followed the tutorial to go to garmin.com, and remove older devices connected to my account, there is nothing in there, so perfect...

So, now I know that the problem doesn’t come from either the phone or the watch but the Garmin software, this so frustrating for a 600€ watch...

  • Exactly the same problem here in UK with my Fenix 6 PRO /  Samsung S8 - pairing problems appear after 3 or 4 weeks.  VERY, VERY  disappointing - As a matter of urgency, communication from GARMIN on next release is critical at this stage - without proper ETA on the fixes, they should stop selling the product and return/reimburse the ones already in the field. Regards, Antoine
