Garmin Connect maps

Hi,

I've searched for this subject but cannot find it. In the garmin connect app, the map on the courses section is permanently on satellite image with no place names overlaid. I cannot find any way of changing this and it is becoming increasingly frustrating. I'm just after the default Google map view.

I am using a Samsung phone for the app if that makes any difference.

Should be a symbol top right of the map like a circle with a double diamond in it. Tap that for the map options.

Click on the icon in the top left:

Choose from the options available

Unfortunately that isn't possible on Android. On Android Garmin Connect gives you the choice between Standard, Satellite and Terrain. Compared to Google Maps the Satellite mode in Garmin Connect doesn't overlay street names and other info.

Thanks, cant for the life of me find how to access this option. I have had default view on before as I ended up doing some sort of reset but have now forgotten again how to do this!

Perhaps uninstall GCM, restart the phone, then reinstall.

Strange, for me the choice is available just like philipshambrook showed:

Which version of Android and which version of Garmin Connect?

I'm on android 10, garmin connect says version 4.38.1.

While the Satellite mode may not have road names in Android, the terrain and Standard options most certainly do.

Street names etc are not overlaid on the satellite maps in iOS either but that was not what you asked...or did. I misunderstand?

When I replied to the authors main question I also mentioned the street name overlays because that was part of the original post:
